Three kinds of skills, one framework

Local chapters plan events around the SkillsUSA Framework to develop students’ personal, workplace and technical skills.

Personal Skills

Integrity, work ethic, professionalism, responsibility, adaptability and self-motivation.

Workplace Skills

Communication, decision making, teamwork, multicultural sensitivity and awareness, planning and leadership.

Technical Skills Grounded in Academics

Computer and technology literacy, job-specific skills, safety and health, service orientation and professional development.

How it works

Our regional chapter affiliation

SkillsUSA serves more than 413,000 students and teachers across the United States and its territories. Each state has its own SkillsUSA association divided into regional areas, and New York City is Area V of SkillsUSA New York. Schools across the city run local chapters that connect their students to everything SkillsUSA offers.

Regional, state and national conferences give students the chance to build relationships within and beyond their own chapter.
